Get To Your Local Scion Dealer

Remember when those Scion events and general marketing campaign was the big "free money" move for all events you ever threw or attended? You half can't take em seriously but they half come back with some quality stuff. Here's a quarter of that half from the other half - also known as their Sampler #26.

Toxic Avenger - Nonsense Anthem (The Juan Maclean Remix)

> Speaking of Scion, there is a KIA event coming to Miami next week -- bunch of friends and I are playing each night at AWAREHOUSE, downtown.

Below is the flyer for the first night, October 1st. Mr. Michna is gon be in town for the weekend. Gon have him play with me ....... at Chocolate Sundays that weekend too, so get both places ---- they both free. PS: Check out the Never Sleep Again blog for a cool review and some tracks of his.

Oct 1st is free drank n stuff -- the following 3 days they're going to be having a headliner perform. Dunno who is performing when aside from N.E.R.D. are playing Sunday w/ me djing beforehand.

War Stories (Part 3: Fatality!)

NYC in the summer is always a good time.  Thankfully yesterday was our first night-off since these Santogold dates started.

I get the "Everyone you know will be there, and your an idiot if you don't come," phone call from Lloydski regarding this party/rave/fest at a Bushwick art-space/loft thing that him and EggFoo were djing at.

"It goes from 10 to 10, and I've got the opening slot."

So I go.

And, . . . man, . . . . . . that shit was out of control!  I mean, you get a good party like that once in a summer.  It was just a slaughter-fest!

The best part of it, was that EggFoo was the impetus.  That dude held it down.  I haven't seen him kill a party like that since the Ill Sessions days.  But not even.  Well, here's some video that my dodgy camera tried filming.  You can't really make out how large the space was, but a good 800+ people were upstairs.  Lloyd had bought 300 shitty ass whistles and passed em out. EggFoo brought a smoke-machine and his 303; and I guess Woody brought the siren (all crucial elements to a good BK party!).

The two big songs of the night:

"Hey there."

The first Nick Hook dropped, South Beach staple, Bob Sinclair's "World Hold On".  I'm so glad I caught this shit on video - cuz around 0:23 you're about to see the best thing Lloyd has done in the last 24 hours.

Then, two/three songs before Adrian was set to swap with Junior Sanchez, he dropped [@ 0:33]:

"He can't hear you, he's in the zoooone!"

I jumped on the 303, Woody on the siren, and then I called rewind on that shit!!! **Destruction**

Good times.

Climber's Huge In Japan

Jake Jefferson, lame/lazy-ass-poster on this blog, and 1/2 of Climber has got a track on the new Stussy x Turntable Lab compilation that BluJemz helped put together.  EggFooYoung's also got a beat on it.

There were only 500 made -- so if you buy 100 of em, you've got the eBay market on lock when these producers blow up.

If Jake's nice, and/or even received a copy, I'm sure he'll post up his track . . . someday.

Up N Strolling.

Been through 3 computers in the last 4 days; trying to get situated before the Santogold tour.  Now my crates aren't showing up, and apparently the latest Serato update isn't 'approved' for Mac OS 10.5.3, etc, etc.

Also, felt like the blog needed a breather to soak up all that is/was Dan's agggggrrroo-post.  Bad day chum?!

Well, let's move things forward.

Looks like Lily Allen's on the same diet I am.

And in other news . . .

In the near future (*edit: Thursday night) my boy EggFooYoung, now 'known' as Michna (sellout!)(Ghostly | Turntable Lab) is coming into town for a weekend of gigs.

It's crazy to me that I've known this guy for about 10 years!  I still remember one of his first mixtapes -- he did this little beat-juggling session w/ Common's "Funky For You" using that "I can break it down..." section, then switchin up the speeds as he juggled it.  He did the routine at one of my backyard Ill Sessions parties my 1st year living off-campus; I'm pretty sure that was the same party that ended w/ 7 MPD squad cars and a helicopter!

Anyways, I stole this track off his laptop ~2 years ago.  I know he never checks our blog, so I figured I'd post it up; don't rat us out.  That and apparently you have to post up a Diplo-related track to get on Hype Machine. (WTF?!  Anybody got the connect?  Darko?!  Roxy?!  Bueller?!?)

Diplo - Way More (EggFooYoung Remix)

And this song outshined the rest of Like Water For Chocolate for me.  I'm pretty sure the late Jay-Dee produced it.

Winter Music Conference - SUNDAY

One More Day Family Reunion (vol. 17) is going down during Conference.

Of course, after most WMC-attendees begin to call it a wrap(also known as wet blankets), its only natural OMD throws a party .  Expect any of our family thats in town to drop by.  I know its A-Trak's b-day that night.  It's also Craze's last night in Miami for a long while so I know he's coming through.  I probably shouldn't really blow up everyone else's schedule; but expect some very special guests!!!

Written up in the latest Flavorpill.

Party's gon be @ Purdy Lounge, and its FREE!!!!!
[*Note: For WMC badge holders it's $20 and -2 guestlist(you and 2 friends leave)].

$2.50/beer.  You can try to beat it, but you'll fail.

For those not from Miami - this is the best weekly party in Miami, hands-down!  Infuse that with a roster of invite-only OMD DJ's/Artists/Family, and you've got a Nick Nolte vs. Gary Busey Stare-Down right before a Kurt Russell vs. Patrick Swayze Hair Shakedown!!(yes, THAT awesome).

There are also rumors of a national cash-prize arm-wrestling contest goin down.  More details TBA.

Steaming Disco Tune
Larry Wood - Pumping Iron (Dim's Edit)

Still playing down here:
DJ Khaled & 305 - Bitch I'm From Dade County

Playing during WMC:

Love Is In The Air

Remember when you were really young, you and your friends would play-wrestle? Then later on, you got to be too big and/or ur ego got too big and u were scared ur gon get hurt or made to look like an overgrown fool. Well, early in Club 132's days, Jake (then 32) and Xavier (then 19) didn't pay attention to those social 'norms'. For some reason, this transpired in my room. Right after the last photo, Jake busted ass.

That place has got memories for days --- too bad the landlord was a tool.

Check out some house party photos taken by Last Nights Party guy. Dunno how he ended up at our place. Was that after the 10am after-party? But that night sets expectations high for this upcoming WMC!!!

If you're not coming down you're missing Denny's breakfast w/ EggFooYoung . . . tickle, tickle!!!!

DJ Sega - Push It 2 Da Limit (off a mixtape)
